ABOUT
DAPHNE QIN WU is a Chinese American cinematographer based in Los Angeles, and a 2011 graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
She was a 2020 ASC Vision Mentorship mentee under Erik Messerschmidt, and in 2021 was named one of American Cinematographer’s Rising Stars of Cinematography. In 2022 she was chosen by BAFTA as a part of their Breakthrough USA cohort ‘22-23.
Her most recent narrative features include SXSW 2023’s THE ANGRY BLACK GIRL AND HER MONSTER (2023) dir. Bomani Story and BEACON (2024) dir. Roxy Shih, which premiered at Tribeca in 2024.
Daphne enjoys crafting visual stories that bring audiences on a journey, and believes deeply in the use of storytelling as a bridge for empathy. She looks for impactful, daring scripts, and loves to work with directors who are just as fearless in their vision.
